How did what happened change your life, at home and at work?
At home I am a lot closer to my family then ever, knowing it could all end in a flash. I am also more aware of mental health issues and constantly talking to my children, I have 4, to keep an ear for possible problems. At work I am more alert then ever, especially on 2 lane highways. The accident I was involved in was a SUV crossing center line on purpose. I was off work for 10 days. I know absolutely in my mind there was nothing I could do to avoid him.
I gotta say…SBT (suicide by truck) was always the scariest thing for me. It sadly involves another person that didn’t asked to be there. I’m glad to know that you know you couldn’t do anything. Wish you the best.
I gotta asked what went through your mind at that time? Were you mad at that person for involving you in its life in that way?
Hi. This happened so fast . I was in shock for awhile. Saw him sitting straight up in his seat. When I got my s$%t together I went looking for him and thinking maybe there were other people, kids in the car. But it was just him and somehow that was a good.
Some people use others for a means and their is nothing you can do about it. I am glad you have family for support. Be there for your family
