How did what happened change your life, at home and at work?
In 2004 a drunk driver crossed the median and side swipe a car in front of me, then their pickup went under my trailer, and out the back into the front of a truck behind me. It bothered me for quite some time. I kept away from family & friends and didn’t talk to anyone for quite a while.
After reading the question of the week, I was wondering if it had any affect long-term, and it has.
I used to enjoy going out with friends and partying. Although I never drank much, my friends did, and I didn’t mind. I think it was about that time that I started really pulling away from them. They would drive “buzzed” and I didn’t like it and I told them. I’m not sure if I pulled away from them, or if they pulled away from me, but I definitely felt like I didn’t belong.
