Week 4 – Sir PoppaBear

Knights of the Road – Week 4 (Photovoice submission for Sir PoppaBear)

Roadside memorials can be found on roads large and small, urban and rural, all over Canada. They mark the location of a tragic loss. How do you feel about these memorials in general? What feelings or thoughts come to you when you see them?

(Bonus optional question: You may know the circumstances of some of these memorial sites. Is there anything you’d like to say to the people involved in those events?)

The picture attached is a memorial for my incident. When I do happen to travel down that stretch of highway I always make a point to stop and pay my respects. It’s a memory and grief that will forever be etched in my brain. As for others that scatter our province it’s a sad reminder of lives that have been taken too early. I mourn for every individual and have sympathy for the other party. For I know what they are going through. I notice everyone I pass and I wish others did too. Maybe stop, and think. Think that maybe that could be them. To maybe drive a bit slower, or put their phone down, put the book down, get up earlier to do your makeup. It’s a sad fact that everyone has a number in the lineup to death. But if you could change your place in that line by changing one simple habit, wouldn’t you do it?
